Which slingshot should I buy?

There are so many slingshots available. How can I decide which one is best for me?

Another great question. There truly are so many slingshots available that it can be daunting to decide which one is best for you.

In this video Nathan goes over what to consider one trying to decide which slingshot is the best one for you to buy.

The sheer number of available slingshots to buy is pretty amazing. But it is also part of the joy of slingshots. We all love to try out different slingshots.

That said, if you do choose one slingshot and one band set for your slingshot and stick with it, you will undoubtedly achieve a greater level of accuracy and marksmanship than if you use multiple slingshots.

But we aren’t kidding anybody. We all want the best one and we all want more than one. Here are some tips when you were trying to figure out which slingshot is best for you. We will especially consider those who are looking for a slingshot for the first time.

Consider these four points when choosing which slingshot to buy:

  1. Don’t be obsessed over the power of the slingshot.
  2. Make sure you give slingshots that have flat bands a try.
  3. Consider a slingshot with a wide fork gap.
  4. Make sure you have learned how slingshots work!

It doesn’t matter how fast you miss your target. If you are over banded, that is have too much power in your slingshot and slingshot bands, you are shooting the wrong slingshot. If your bands have too much power and you cannot hold steady you will not be accurate.

Secondly, even though flat bands may not last as long as tube slingshot bands, the combination of speed and therefore flat trajectory and white draw weight makes flat bands the number one choice for a slingshot shooting.

Next, use a slingshot with a wider fork gap. A wider gap on your slingshot fork will be more forgiving, especially if you are a beginner. If you are unsure of your release or just need more practice, choose a slingshot with a wider fork gap.

And finally. We cannot stress this enough. You must understand how slingshots work in order to properly choose which slingshot is for you. Once you understand how slingshots work and what it takes to shoot properly, You will no longer be tempted by some of the slingshots you see out there on Amazon for example. When you see a slingshot with a laser sight, you will know that that’s a gimmick. When you see a slingshot with combination springs and bands, again, you will know to stay away.

When you are looking for the best slingshot to buy, simply make sure that you are buying from a reputable manufacturer who will stand behind their products. Choose a slingshot with flat bands. Use consistent spherical ammo. And definitely make sure that you understand slingshots and how slingshots work!
