Take your pick. There’s no one “correct” grip, but you’ll most likely develop one that you are most comfortable with. Choose from the some supported grip, the pinch grip, and the hammer grip.
Some slingshots such as the Scout slingshot, can accommodate all three grips. The Hammer slingshot, for example, only accommodates the hammer grip.
