This is a quick and simple one, so if you’ve ever had this question, here’s the answer. Back releases (or back tension releases) are not going to work with latex.

With that being said, if you’re bowfishing, a simple, caliper-style release is really all you need. Whether it be one that attaches to your wrist or a trigger release, it doesn’t really matter. You just want one that’s going to hook into a D-loop and have a trigger-style release.

Again, a back tension release it’s not going to work with latex, and it’s really easy to find a caliper-style release that works for you and is affordable.
