I want to shoot the most powerful bands available, can I do that?
Sure, you can shoot really heavy bands but it is important to keep in mind that heavy bands don’t always translate into a faster shot.
Heavy bands require heavy ammo to be efficient.
Otherwise, the projectile will not have enough mass to absorb the energy from the bands and the left over energy is wasted….and if shooting OTT you will find it to be very uncomfortable due to ‘hand slap’ (watch it happen here).
For best performance, one should always match the bands to the ammo. Slingshots are not like bows….heavier does not necessarily mean faster. Furthermore, shooting very heavy bands covers up any inconsistencies in your release and can lead to learning bad habits unintentionally.
Start with lighter bands and work up to heavy bands and ammo. You will be glad you did because missing the target with more velocity is still missing the target.

Hey guys, looking to install 5/16 dia. Tubes on my hammer, at this time with the looped tube design its to tight and the oculars plugs won’t go in and seat, is there a better way to go ? Thanks
You can use fat tubes with Ocularis.
Once you place the tube in, the first draw will tighten it right down. Try doing this with the ball bearing NOT installed, then installing a bearing. If it’s still too much, try a smaller bearing. You can torque down hard on the plug!

Im wanting to hunt deer and smaller ferral Hogs, using steel balls, head shots at7-15yds, what would be a powerful combo for that? Also Is there a benefit to using a draw length stretching further behind my head as I see others do?
We would not recommend steel for large game. Shooting arrows from the Hammer would be the only way we’d recommend hunting large game and only with careful practice!
